Family members claims truck was still running but no sight of trucker

*UPDATE*: As of Tuesday, May 14, Barbie Martinez, family friend of Wayne Person, confirms that Person has been FOUND.

The family of a Sacramento trucker is seeking the help of the NC trucking community regarding a trucker who disappeared Thursday evening, May 9th.

According to multiple Facebook posts by friends and family, Sacramento trucker Wayne Person disappeared during a stop at a truck station in Mocksville, North Carolina.

Early Monday morning, a friend of Wayne Person posted this on Facebook:

“Wayne Person is still missing. He went missing Thursday, May 9th at 7pm. His truck was found running at the TA truck stop in Mocksville, NC. There was some confusion at which truck stop. But that has since been verified by the detective. Just spoke to the detectives. There was no surveillance at the truck stop. No new leads. If you have any information that may help please call Det. Cameron Jones at 336-345-6052 or get a hold of me or Ashley Person. Thank you. Please share and bring him home safe and sound.

“I’m asking all my fellow truckers, family, friends please share and keep your eyes open. Prayers please!!!!”

According to Barbie Martinez, the friend of Wayne Person, Person is “Short” and “stocky”, standing 5’5 and weighing 280 lbs with tattoos on his right wrist. Martinez also states Person usually sports a silver ring with 3 bands. “He always wears his red shorts and red baseball cap that says California under the bill of the hat.”

“Unfortunately, many other drivers who have gone missing are not found for long periods of time. The fact is that hundreds of professional truck drivers go missing every year, many not located for weeks or even months”
